Dr. Shereen Habib is an experienced clinician and women’s health expert. Since qualifying from the University of London in 1997, she has had a broad and diverse career. She trained as general practitioner and took a special interest in women’s health. Since then, she has worked both in the National Health Service in the UK and in the private sector in Dubai.
Having grown up between the UAE and the UK, she speaks both English and Arabic fluently and is culturally aware of the diverse range of health beliefs and expectations in the region.Dr Shereen has extensive experience in dealing with women’s health symptoms such as breast disease, menstrual problems, menopause, investigating fertility issues, sexual health and women’s health screening. She also has extensive family medicine experience and is competent in dealing with diverse chronic illnesses and acute medical problems. She takes a holistic view of er patients and their individual needs.
As Chief Medical Officer for Formula One Abu Dhabi and other motorsports events in the UAE, she is one of only a few women in leadership positions in motorsports. It is a role she is very proud of, and one that provides her with an opportunity to expand her medical horizons. Dr. Shereen does motorsports medicals for international FIA and FIM competitor licences.
As a remote lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, Dr. Shereen is a knowledgeable educator, and she is passionate about empowering women about their health through education and awareness.
She is a founding member and president of a women’s health NGO for refugees and migrants and regularly volunteers in Greece at a safe space for women and girls from a nearby refugee camp.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travelling, ice baths, and socialising with friends and family.
