Why should children see their dentists regularly?

      Dear Moms and Dads,

Did you know that children can develop oral issues such as cavities and gum problems, just like us adults?

Here at Drs. Nicolas & Asp Centers, our philosophy is based on recognizing the value of patient education and promoting prevention.

That's why our team of pediatric dentists recommends that you bring your children to their regular dental checkups for early detection and timely intervention.

Regular check-ups focus on preventing dental problems.

As parents, we do everything that we can to protect our children and keep them healthy. Bringing them regularly allows us to teach your child the importance of looking after their teeth. We also provide parents with the information needed to help our children adopt the right habits for good oral health.

Dental issues can often develop silently, showing no signs or symptoms in their early stages. As children’s dentists, our goal is to help our children maintain a healthy smile for a lifetime, and that means preventing pain and more extensive treatments whenever possible.

We will monitor your child’s dentition as they grow.

As our babies grow, their milk teeth fall out and gradually make way for permanent ones. Typically, around the age of 6, they will move into the mixed dentition stage, a phase where they experience the eruption and shedding of baby milk while their permanent adult teeth start to develop.

Although milk teeth are temporary, they play a crucial role in our children’ speech, proper nutrition, and alignment. During your child’s regular visit, we monitor the health and development of their teeth and help ensure their permanent ones come in properly to avoid potential orthodontic issues in the future.

We will help prevent and correct your child’s oral habits.

Our little ones can develop poor oral habits like thumbsucking, mouthbreathing, and prolonged pacifier use. While these might seem harmless, they can have a significant impact on their oral health if they carry on for long time.

Years of thumbsucking and prolonged pacifier use can lead to misalignment and negatively affect the development of your children's jaws. Additionally, mouthbreathing can result in a dry mouth, increasing their risk of tooth decay.

When we see your child, we look for signs of these habits and guide you on ways to help break them. Together, we'll make sure our children enjoy healthy, confident smiles.

At Drs. Nicolas & Asp Centers, we believe that prevention, education, and your child's well-being are essential. We'll work with you to help your child develop strong, healthy teeth and gums, and teach them the knowledge and habits they need to maintain good oral health for life.

Dear Moms and Dads, thank you for trusting us with your child's oral health. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
